My preferred listening while driving fast is electronic.

To cover more genres would require that each genre have less music, which would make the soundtrack far more repetitive for those players only listening to one or two preferred genres. Several folks have already mentioned how repetitive a soundtrack can get after playing for hundreds of hours, so it makes sense to then have as much content as possible within these specific genres. To do the best job of pleasing the most people, the best strategy is probably to focus on the specific genres of music that most people enjoy while driving fast. There are something like 100 songs on the soundtrack, yes? Let's assume that that's as many as we're allowed. It is truly difficult to please everyone. People who don't own CD's or digital albums, as an example against simple folder & file usage. People who don't use Spotify as a simple example to the very wanted Spotify-integration. The best solution is obviously to give people the ability to integrate their own music, but that's not even simple. You can collaborate with specific studios to reduce the noise, like Hospital Records, but there's a finite limit to feasibility. You can go the Ridge Racer route and make your own collective theme and sub-genre, but it's not as relatable compared to real-life songs you hear.

Can't just add 1 song to a new radio station, and you can't just go adding 50 songs to each station unless you're Rockstar & Grand Theft Auto. There's no harm in more stations, more genres, more variety, but it all adds more and more tax in time and money. Maybe that's the solution to that "issue" and the problem is trying to have a diverse range of artists and songs? Possibly. That just ballparks it, hoping the collective people latch on to the sub-categories they like and ignore the rest. The closest you'd get to "solving" the issue is plopping in the most popular songs of genres or non-specific genres. It's a perpetual issue, the only reason it wasn't or isn't an issue to you in other games is because it's your personal taste being catered towards. So I expect literally nothing from any soundtrack, not just for Forza but pretty much anything in existence. Real talk, I listen to Tatsuro Yamashita and 80's Italian-Disco with the rare dabble in funk, ain't no possible way on earth they could cater to my tastes in any capacity. absolutely non-varied tastes and all like the same music. I wish they just let us use a simple folder at the very least for a custom radio, even in like a USB for consoles.Ĭlick to shrink.Ah yes, the collective people who have. Was really frustrating for the ~900 hours of FH4 that I played, can’t imagine what the soundtrack must’ve been like if you’ve put enough time into horizon games. At least this time the bandaid doesn’t play seperate music over the music you’re listening to while loading, near festivals, etc. We can only bandaid, and in FH4 we couldn’t even turn the music fully off so it wasn’t much of a bandaid, but it’s what we have. Is your proposal having no music in the game at all, thus solving the finite soundtrack issue.? Obviously not, and the next best solution is a larger soundtrack with many artists and stations, no? Spotify and external music integration is the closest you can get to solving it by relegating musical choice to the player (if anyone wants to loop Chicken Dance for 900 hours of Forza Horzion they can, that’s their choice), and as said it is a disappointment that is isn’t in FH5 (and 4). There is simply no solution to that problem while having a soundtrack. I’m well aware of that, even the loading screen music took only a few hours before they were totally worn out, and is a main reason I listen to my own music. Click to shrink.Oh of course the songs get overplayed.
